Marisa Rooney, owner, and body-positive curvy campaigner founded this business in 2017 and has over 11 years’ experience of running bridal boutiques across the Northwest, after seeing many women struggling to fit into standard wedding dress sizes and feeling out of place when shopping for a dress she knew it was time to launch her own exclusive curvy girl boutique.
With years of experience as an overseas buyer, this helps her stay on top of what is trending, and her background as a qualified designer (B.A hons Liverpool John Moores University) means she has expert knowledge on cutting patterns and how to fit and form the dress around your curves perfectly. A selection of the gowns available to buy are exclusive to Beautiful Brides and cannot be found anywhere else in the UK. With our recent addition of in house collections for the brides who are looking for something less formal.

Promoting positive body image is a passion for Marisa, who teaches self-love to all of her brides. This passion and dedication to the cause are because worldwide, people experience negative body image and sometimes go to extreme lengths to lose weight. Despite her curvy confidence, Marisa is no exception to this. Before enrolling at university, she made the drastic decision to have gastric surgery abroad, dropping 10 stone, making her even more miserable than she had ever been. Even today she still experiences severe complications following this surgery all in a bid to be thin. This is just one of the many reasons she is devoted when it comes to serving curvy women, ensuring that they have access to the same services and bridal gowns as women who are standard size.
